The European society for the promotion of the memory registered association was Weimar created in the year 2002 close. With much enthusiasm and commitment we are concerned the large challenge to create a country wide platform for memory training.
We want to unite similarly the German chess federation as much as possible inspired trailers of the memory techniques and the memory sport under a roof. As association with recognized non-profit character we pursue idealistic, and no economic goals.
As association we would like to cause and have something positive in this world many visions for the future. Beside numerous others, we embodied two important goals firmly in our statute:
On the one hand we will arrange the partial already centuries ago invented techniques as much as possible for humans, above all however at pupils. For this we train teachers and other interested one, who pass the techniques on for their part in working groups at schools to young people. For support we have extensive, didactically thought out working documents provided.
Many of us would have wished themselves in the school time and the training these extremely effective Lernmethoden to have known. In order it would be as much easier us at that time pleases, for example historical data or words to learn and also still fun to have. The knowledge of mankind increases in the rapid speed: It doubles itself within 10 years!! Perhaps it is in the distant future even necessary to introduce memory training as obligation school subject. Finally against humans from tomorrow ever higher demands are made - ever more information must be taken up and been callable.
To second we offer regularly regional and national (the German memory championship aligned of the GGK registered association) as well as at a later time also international (e.g. European) championships on. Many of us already participated in such matches and the attraction and fun discovered to measure mutually and stimulate to always new records. How in the physical kinds of sport memory training will also develop ever more to a broader movement, with which „achievement sportsmen point “the possibilities of the human memory and to Germany out in the international comparison represented.
Of course this goal also includes of making the participation in matches for persons possible with physical Handicap (e.g. blind one): Because in the mental sport one measures with its spirit and not with the physical covering!
We are pleased on our way a good piece to have already advanced and see very strained and motivate into the future.
