The Lao German managed Society: v.l.n.r. Ronald Neuber, Padith Phongpachith, Kristina Zelder, Dr. Gert black lots, Somphone Phongpachith, Professor Dr. Heinz Wissing, Margarete Bischoff, Professor Dr. K.O. Bischoff and Ludwig Neuber (openPR) - Ruppichteroth - on initiative of the former rector of the primary school Ruppichteroth Ludwig Neuber there are partnership contacts from the Bröltalgemeinde with the Southeast Asiatic country Laos since 1998.

They began with a school partnership of the primary school Ruppichteroth with a primary school in Muang Kham. Due to the large emergency in Laos and the extra large donation readiness of the Ruppichterother population the assistance could not only develop themselves further in the meantime within the school range, but the initiatives also on the cultural, the sporty and particularly on the health and medical level expanded:

2001 building of the primary school Ban Chomthong, 2003 building of the hospital (bed house) Muang Kham - in co-operation with Dr. Urs Lauper of the university University of Zurich and the relief organization „Swiss Lao hospital Project “was here just provided a further bed house and inaugurated, to 2004 reconstruction of the Pagode Ban Ban, 2005 building of the sports field Muang Kham with support of the Willi Daume donation, zerbombten in the Viet Nam war, 2006 reorganization of the High School in Muang Kham as well as the Phiavat of High School in the capital Vientiane, in which also blind children are integrativ informed.

Support thereby the promotion association „Kischel granted and grant “to the primary school as well as the Evangelist church municipality Ruppichteroth.

Just again approximately 30,000 euro could be transferred to Laos for the lining up projects. So that the donation funds are converted at Laos to arrive also correct and 1:1, the Lao red cross continues to be available and as a man of confidence Mr. Bounmy Thoummavong in Vientiane as a partner for in the meantime various assistance.

Apart from these concrete aid projects further large projects are in planning:

- With the German relief organization „action medeor “the medicine supply of the hospitals in Laos is to be guaranteed. Furthermore Muang Kham is planned inoculation action for the children against typhoid fever in the district.

- With the attendance of deputy Lao Ambassador Phomma Boutthavong in Ruppichteroth on the occasion of the Verabschiedung of rector Ludwig Neuber into the retirement, the district hospital Waldbröl offered to train further in or two Lao physicians and likewise nurses in a six month's practical course. Emphasis of the basic and advanced training is the accident surgery.

- By switching of Professor Dr. Karl-Otto Bischoff, Chefarzt of the district hospital, are e.g. brought medical instruments, sterilization and respirators to Laos, which are urgently used there.

- By the switching of Dr. Dieter fast - optician, sport physician and vice-president of the German society for sport medicine and prevention - could help to be won Professor Dr. Hollmann to furnish at the university in the capital Vientiane a chair for sport medicine.

- The smallrural structures in Laos offer themselves to develop after German model a Genossenschaftswesen which by the DGRV (German Genosschafts and Raiffeisenverband) was already tackled. This initiative is to be supported actively.

Since the aid projects and projects accept thus a ever larger extent, on the urgent recommendation of the German State Department in coordination with Lao Ambassador Khouanta Phalivong its own association was created now as a Lao-German society for innovation and development (Lao German Society for innovation and development registered association) with seat in Ruppichteroth and the unanimously following executive committee was selected:

Important supporters can be placed to the executive committee still in form of an adviser by the meeting of the members to the side.

During the founders' meeting Padith Phongpachith informed about its Laos journey just taken place. It met with new German Ambassador Winands and the former Ambassador in Laos Berger as well as with important representatives of the Lao government, in order to co-ordinate all projects and further projects.

How importantly the government took Phongpachiths attendance, showed up in the fact that all newspapers reported on its attendance.

Padith Phongpachith brought for all projects and projects the agreement to the Lao government along and by the government was beyond that authorized, in Germany both political support and sponsors to recruit for „the SEA Game 2009 “. These are the Southeast Asia plays, for the development of of Laos very important sport event, which takes place for the first time in Laos. Sport does not only serve here the promotion of the youth, but sporty successes can help that Laos also once positively admits after the frights and bad consequences of the Viet Nam war finally in the world becomes.

1982 came the Lao refugee family Padith Pongpachith into the municipality Ruppichteroth. Ludwig Neuber took over the sponsorship at that time with his family, from which a close family connection developed. 1996 bereiste Ludwig Neuber for the first time the homeland of the Lao refugees and recognized the urgent necessity to help this country and its humans.

The initiative concentrated since that time on the district Muang Kham in the province Xiengkhouang, the region suffers until today strongly under the consequences of the Viet Nam war.

To be able to put created with the establishment of the “Lao German Society for innovation and development registered association” now the basis larger project ideas and visions into practice.
