Current Turkey? No, but unfair tendency-makes with old stories

Unfair reporting over Turkey does not help anybody (openPR) - in the last days are in the Austrian and Swiss press different articles appeared, in which on a judgement of the European Court of Justice for human rights, which was issued now against Turkey, one reports, with which this because of heavy torture to the payment by smart money was condemned.

With almost equal reading messages of different newspapers from Switzerland, light stone and Austria and the ORF thereby the formulation used “was condemned Turkey… again because of cases of heavy torture. The Strassburger judge instructed the government in Ankara to pay to the plaintiffs - pair of brothers and sisters living in the German exile - together 50,000 euro smart money.”

ALSO TODAY STILL PARTIAL UNSATISFACTORY ONE OF CONDITIONS

Nobody will be able to deny seriously that there are also today still cases of torture in Turkish prisons particularly in „the determination phase “. The annual reports occupy by human right organizations and also the ATR are well-known such descriptions from first hand.
Also the conditions in many Turkish prisons are still far from European conceptions over hygiene, appropriate supply and suitable for humans accommodation of the prisoners.
During the evaluation one should not ignore however the living conditions, in those still a large number of Turkish citizens both in cities, when in particular also on the country lives.

That is the one side, which one should not denials. But there is also another side, and evenly those is it, which by some press organs is used, in order in unfair way against Turkey tendency to make. Exactly over it acts such a case also this time again, during the reporting over the process, which was led before the European Court of Justice for human rights and now decided, whereby a smart money in substantial height was awarded to the plaintiffs.

AN INCIDENT FROM 1993

One must read the messages very carefully and up to the end, in order to find the tendencious out of the reporting. In the further text of the messages it does not become clear that it concerns an incident, the less than 14 (!) Years is past.

Quotation: “That today 40 years old man and his 36-jährige sister in July 1993 in Istanbul because of presumed affiliation to the forbidden labour party Kurdistans (Kurdish worker's party) had been several-day-long held arrested and. In this time they were poured over own data according to by policemen with electrical shocks and stick blows on the feet malträtiert, with ice-cold water, hung up naked for hours at the arms as well as abused sexually.”

CRITICAL REPORTING YES, BUT FAIR!

Critical reporting over current conditions in Turkey is necessary and can contribute to get desirable development processes going in this country. Also the processing of the recent Turkish past during processes before the European Court of Justice for human rights may be unpleasant for Turkey, does not however only help at a late time the victims of national encroachments, but proves also the reform ability.

To disturb that in parts of the European press with sent selected headings is to be suggested to the readers, in Turkey still nothing changed, is harmful and destructive such developments thereby against it. In addition one plays thereby the Turkish forces into the hands, which want to subordinate Europe one in principle „Turkey hostile attitude “.

This negative effect should one during the reporting over processes European Court of Justice for human rights consider!
