(openPR) - lp SatCom presents new portable Satcom terminal for the defense sector
Friedrichshafen, 7 February 2007 - lp SatCom, a subsidiary company of the SES ASTRA and an offerer of satellite-based broadband VSAT, Broadcast, government and military communications network works, leading world-wide, presents a new, light and nevertheless efficient and at the same time terminal for military employments, which can be set up extremely simply. It makes the meshed transmission of language, data and video possible directly from terminals to terminals.
The MPT1000 is ideally suitable for out OF AREA employments in remote or hard-to-travel area, in which small weight and fast start-up of the terminal are crucial. The terminal is in two suit-cases packed and thus easily to foot or on a vehicle (for example Quad) transportable. The system is in less than one quarter of an hour operational.
The portable terminal is appropriate for the enterprise in Ku-volume. A version for the X-volume is in development. The terminal consists of a six-part 1-Meter-Antenne with LNB and 4 W semiconductor amplifier, a Tablet PC with integrated government inspection department and compass as well as a satellite modem designed for high load. The modem is based on lp SatComs of proven MF-TDMA SkyWAN® technology, which offers extreme flexibility, scaling barness and efficiency and to data rates permitted by up to 8 Mbit/s. Transmission resources will become an user terminal only if necessary assigned and on the basis of the packet switching real time and non--real time services will integrated transfer. The MPT1000 offers an Ethernet interface, which connects the devices and networks of the user on IP basis (Internet Protocol).
The MPT1000 fulfills the requirements of the standard MIL-STD-810E and can therefore under nearly all climatic conditions be used. The large input voltage section permits the use of most diverse voltage supplies. Thus the system with different batteries can be operated for example from the logistics chain of the customer or also directly by the transport vehicle.
