Of Germany first WebTV portal is called “TVMAN”
The association for free media in the Internet hopes to be able to make with TVMAN a substantial contribution for the development of the web TV in Germany.
(openPR) - on tvman.de at present 116 different TV-channels are offered free of charge, without reservation and without additional advertisement - most of it live.
TVMAN is a non-commercial project of the association for free media in the Internet registered association, which found its origin at the medium faculty the building houses university Weimar.
Background is to 1.1.07 into force stepped, new broadcast fee regulation of the institutes for broadcast medium, which all owners of a Internetable PC in Germany for the payment of broadcast fees at a value of 5,52 euro/month to the GEZ obligated (if the PC is not operated as secondary equipment).
For the moment most public broadcasting stations offer only individual video contributions on their homepage. Transmitters as for instance the Second Channel of German Television, which as well as all produced contents over Internet make accessible and users beyond that even about newly available programs inform, are thereby the exception: most transmitters (e.g. KiKa, BR, HR, among other things) offer only a small part of their entire program in the Internet. Many of them scatter medium contents besides over their entire Internet operational readiness level, so that it is impossible for the user to consume contents as used passively; rather the programs must become individually - similarly as Internet sides over a search machine - „gegooglet “.
Here TVMAN comes into the play: on the German portal everyone keeps access to all contributions, which are offered by public transmitters in the Internet uncomplicated. All well-known video Podcasts, which of private broadcasting stations as program Teaser in Internet and on different Podcast portal as for instance „Apple itunes are placed “published, is additional, and all local, German television stations on www.tvman.de registers. And also English-language media can be consumed on the side: at present the offer contains already 47 - usually US-American - of channels; particulars of it radiate their program already today around the clock in the Internet.
The recent success of video portals such as YouTube or MyVideo makes clear, how the medium consumption in the Internet - owing to broadband entrances such as DSL - changes itself slowly of text to moving picture contents. In the USA there are today already different similar medium portals. TVMAN is the first German TV-portal.
All, over www.tvman.de accessible contents are radiated exclusively by their legal owners and edited nor archived by the association neither. Over a Opt Out form each contents owner has the possibility of having removed individual transmissions or whole channels with immediate effect and permanently the listing from TVMAN.
In the future the association for free media in the Internet will make registered association for its members possible in addition to operate „personal open channels “(television Blogs) on www.tvman.de.
