Intact blood pressure values - the key to lucky its? Germans are in an European Union study tail light
(openPR) - who does not have problems with high blood pressure, that is highly content also with its life. Now researchers in a large study in 16 European Union countries found this direct connection out between joy of life and medical measured values. With a comparison of the countries among themselves it showed up beyond that that Germans together with Portuguese and Finns are to be found at the lower end the scale: They report most frequently over to high blood pressure and are most rarely content with their living conditions. At the upper end of the scale one finds Irländer, Danes, Dutchmen and Sweden.
The scientists of the University OF Warwick (England) had from a routine collection of the European Union, which so-called “euro barometer” data regards the connection of blood high pressure and life satisfaction analyzed by 15.000 coincidentally selected persons from 16 European Union countries more near and in particular more near. With the confrontation of these two information then a surprisingly high connection showed up for the researchers: Participants, who reported on very strong problems with their blood high pressure, classified at the same time also their life satisfaction very many smaller. Thus a confrontation of the asked ones showed with blood high pressure problems and the portion of the asked ones (in %), which are with their life rather or very content:
• no blood pressure problems: 63% high life satisfaction
• small: 18%
• rather large: 6%
• very large: 1%
The researchers continued however still another step and examined also whether in the 16 European Union countries the extent of the blood pressure problems or the satisfaction presents itself differently. They, also with statistic control of the age structure and sex affiliation in the individual countries found actual that there were here very large differences. In the highest group (with few blood high pressure problems and high life satisfaction) participant from Sweden, Denmark, Great Britain and the Netherlands, in the group with most medical problems and the smallest satisfaction is was east and West German ones to be found, together with Portuguese and Finns. Thus only 58% of the West German ones and 50% of the East German did not express any blood pressure problems (to the comparison: Dane 79%). And only 27% of the West German ones and 18% of the East German were very content with their life (Dane 66%).
