Sewage conditioning of Krüger WABAG in European-wide largest bio ethanol manufacturing

In the bio ethanol work in Zeitz two bioreactors provide for anaerobic prepurifying of the waste water and thus for the energy producing utilization of the residual substances. (openPR) - increasing production of bio fuels makes high process engineering demands against the water treatment

Ratingen/Zeitz, 16 February 2007 - one of Krüger WABAG for the south sugars AG established water purification in Zeitz, Saxonia-Anhalt, provides for the efficient and environmentalcompatible dressing of the waste water in bio ethanol production. Principal item after one construction period of the plant placed finished from less than five months removed now and is an anaerobic prepurifying. Thus a majority of the organic impurities is also diminished biologically and used for the production of fermentation gas high-energy.

Substantial components of the supplied plant are beside the two anaerobic BIOBED® reactors a 5,000 cubic meter waste water seizing mixing and balancing reservoir as well as factory with proportioning plants, equipment technology and a mud drainage centrifuge. The system laid out for the treatment of all resulting process waste water of the bio ethanol plant. „We are proud on the fact that we contributed Dr. Ian Stewart, managing director of the Krüger WABAG and their parent company Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies with our decades of experience in the biological water purification to the brisk extension of this production “, so.

In Zeitz a subsidiary company of the south sugars AG, the CropEnergies AG, operates to time largest plant for the bio ethanol production of Europe and sets thereby internationally yardsticks not only for the growth market bio ethanol production, but also for the energy winning utilization of production residual substances. The demand for bio fuels grows rapidly. To 2010 CropEnergies expects growth rates from annually 30 to 50 per cent. A reason is the goal of the European Union states of increasing the portion of bio fuels of the fuel consumption of a per cent today to 5,75 per cent in the year 2010. Thus the dependence on crude oil imported goods and CO2-Emissionen are to be opened lowered as well as for the farmers new channels of distribution. In Germany the admixture from bio fuels is obligatorily prescribed to the gasoline since January 2007.

The CropEnergies AG - an enterprise of the group of south sugars - is established and based on the production capacity a prominent European manufacturer of bio ethanol as fuel. From regenerating raw materials - grain and sugar beets - energy is won in the form of bio ethanol. With subsidiaries in Germany, France and Belgium CropEnergies was established within fewer years than bio ethanol manufacturers in this growth market.

Krüger WABAG forms one together with ELGA Berkefeld, ELGA LabWater and RWO under the roof of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies the internationally leading offerer in the drinking, process and sewage conditioning. The power spectrum covers solutions for a broad spectrum at customers of the house and swimming pool engineering over hospitals, laboratories, power stations and industrial enterprises like for example beverage, food and paper manufacturers up to international relief organizations and ships.
