Dr. Rainer quantity of new speakers of the initiative zinc

Dr. Rainer quantity is new speaker of the initiative zinc. (openPR) - Düsselodorf, 27 November 2006. Dr. Rainer quantity was selected on 23 November by the representatives of all member enterprises to the new speaker of the initiative zinc. The managing director of the Xstrata zinc GmbH in the Nordenham of Lower Saxony start thus the follow-up of Ulrich Grillo, which was selected to the president of the trade association metals.

Dr. Menge worked from 1974 to 1991 in different plant departments and positions of the zinc industry, before the chemist attained a doctorate was active starting from 1991 for four years in the head office of the METALEUROP SA in Paris. In the connection that changed today 61-Jährige as a managing director to resin metal GmbH and held starting from 1997 the same position with the Nordenhamer hut as well as the METALEUROP GmbH. The native Hannoveraner was responsible also for other zinc enterprises of the METALEUROP. Since 2003 Dr. Menge is a managing director of the Xstrata GmbH in Nordenham. He is father of three adults children and lives with his wife in Nordenham.

The zinc industry in Germany
In the year 2005 the zinc industry in Germany processed 623,000 tons zinc, about which 339,000 tons of in this country were produced. In that zinc producing and processing industry as well as its surrounding field approximately 30,000 coworkers in 320 enterprises are busy. The industry made past year a conversion of 1.5 billion euro.

The initiative zinc
The initiative zinc is a union of zinc producers, Zinkrecyclern, semi-finished material producers, manufacturers and processing plants of zinc connections under the roof of the trade association of metals. She is partner for authorities, user and for the press in all questions approximately around the zinc. The initiative zinc has its seat in Duesseldorf and works in close co-operation with national and international zinc federations.
