(openPR) - Watt guidance on Sylt, bird countings on Hallig Hooge or before pc. Peter Ording - starting from April 2007 the protection station offers again interesting practical course places in the national park Wattenmeer to Wattenmeer student and other young people. Also some places in the Freiwilligen ecological year (FÖJ) or in the civil service are to be still occupied.
Of Germany largest national park, the national park Wattenmeer in Schleswig-Holstein, is the homeland of cone seals, sea-dogs, pig whales as well as many rare course and kinds of breeding bird.
Interested ones young humans can complete and help a paid practical course in fascinating North Sea nature to protect this unique habitat.
„Our trainees begun in the protected area support “describes Christof Goetze of the protection station Wattenmeer. „To their tasks the counting of birds e.g. belongs in the national park. Thus the emphasis is on the collection of breeding birds in May. One must be however no bird specialist, in order to fulfill this task. Most kinds can be differentiated easily from each other. “The won data give here information over long-term trends and show whether the preventive measures must be sufficient or be adapted. “
An important part of the practical course activity is the naturkundliche education work in the national park. Particularly Watt migrations mediate to holiday-makers and the native fascination of the habitat between ebb-tide and tide and recruit at the same time for the protection of this unique natural landscape. In most employment places also naturkundliche exhibitions are cared for, in which aquariums make the view possible under the water surface of the national park.
The practical courses with the protection station Wattenmeer have a special attraction. The activities are organized to a large extent independently in small teams. This offers many liberties, required however also the readiness to take responsibility. Head and honorary assigned ones of the association support here trainee inside.
Each year become active about 60 young people in mehrmonatigen practical courses with the protection station Wattenmeer. The accommodation takes place in small group houses, which only few minutes lie far away from the protected areas. The accommodation is free and it a remuneration is paid, which arranges itself after the practical course duration. For shortdecided young people to 26 there is itself also still the possibility, for a civil service place (starting from March or July) or a place in the Freiwilligen ecological year (starting from August, Anmeldefrist to 28,2.) to apply.

The nature protection company protection station Wattenmeer registered association is a private, non-profit nature protection combination, which was created 1962 and a whose goal is it to wake understanding and fascination for the “ecological system Wattenmeer” and the North Sea and to thus increase protection and protection readiness for these habitats.
For this the PROTECTION STATION of WATTENMER in the national park Wattenmeer in in Europe operates singular - network of 20 centers and stations. The three largest, the national park seminar houses on the Halligen Hooge and Langeness as well as at the lighthouse Westerhever, offer groups and grades the possibility of becoming acquainted with over several days the nature of the Wattenmeer.
