The longer in the job, the smaller the English knowledge
(openPR) - ETS Europe demands more investments from enterprises into vocational further training

That resulted in „the TOEIC report on test Takers Worldwide (2005) “of the language test offerer ETS, which examines each year the profiles of all TOEIC Testkandidaten world-wide. Persons, who were less than two years employed, received with the test the best results with 550 points and two to four years employees persons employed 520 points. Working persons, the five to ten years to the enterprise belonged, reached 518 points and employees with more than ten years seniority came only on 456 points.
The majority of the test participants (54 per cent) was employed full or partial time. Generally the students among the candidates achieved higher TOEIC results than in the employer-employee relationship standing participant, which is to be led on it back that students are more active and rather ready to learn English. Participants in lehr or occupations of training achieved predominantly higher total results than participants in other occupational groups. The lowest point values obtained workers and technical personnel. Also these results are to be explained by the different vocational requirements and the frequency of the application of foreign languages.
Only at the beginning of of February this yearly communicated Bundesinstitut for vocational training in its statement before the federal committee that the participation ratio of German employees is because of vocational further training with 30 to 40 per cent far behind Sweden, Denmark and France.
„The ETS study and the statement of the Federal institut for vocational training confirm the emergency fewness of vocational further training “, say Holger Creutzburg, Associate Director ETS Europe. „Constant learning and the regular advanced training are in our modern society of the keys to success. Straight enterprises should invest into the further training of their coworkers, since the acquired knowledge flows directly again into the work. In addition, the motivation and the relationship of the coworkers to the enterprise are affected positively by advanced training. “
