Ways from the conflict

Professor Dr. Alexander fair is scientific director/conductor of the training further course of studies of “ways from the conflict - technical and high-level personnel as operational conflict advisors” (openPR) - the University of Hamburg starts its innovative training further study in April for training “operational conflict advisor”. They provide in the enterprises promptly for a productive solution of conflicts.

“A world without conflicts does not correspond at all to our ideal”, says Professor Dr. Alexander fair, scientific director/conductor of the training further study of “ways from the conflict” at the University of Hamburg. “Without conflicts there is no progress. The task of our operational conflict advisors consists therefore of preventing the escalation from conflicts to”. And: “Without conflicts there is no progress”, because “they supply the necessary energy for appropriate initiatives” to us with.

The early productive solution of conflicts has also strong economic advantages: “The economic damage by the consequences of unausgetragener conflicts like incomplete work, mutual handicaps, purposeful incorrect information, competence wrangling, kidnapping strategies, mutual breakdown fire, diseases, time absent etc. might be substantial”, stresses fair.

In April Hamburg starts for the second time the two-year training further study of “ways from the conflict” at the university. Therein a team qualifies maximally 18 participation around Professor Dr. Alexander fair and Professor Dr. Friedemann Schulz of Thun to “operational conflict advisors”. The study - an innovative mixture from operational readiness level seminars, E-Learning-elements and a one year's Coaching phase - ends with the university University of “Organisational Conflict Guide”.

Guidance gaps give conflicts too to much area

The establishment of conflict resolution procedures is as important as never: Threatening loss of one's job by economic crises, competition under colleague, date pressure, high innovation speed - which climate in the enterprises and authorities has itself changed. “My impression from the consultation of organizations is that an increasing ‚evaporability produces' from high-level personnel - high mobility, small accessibility and avoidance of responsibility - often a guidance gap, which gives to much area to the escalation from conflicts”, white fair.

And therefore Dr. Alexander fair, which was distinguished in the year 2003 with the Fischer Appelt price for outstanding teachings, are expressed by niedrigschwellig working “operational conflict advisors” important beside the traditional conflict resolution procedures (among other things operating or personnel councils) the establishment for Professor: “Traditional conflict resolution procedures are a stable basis for each conflict resolution system, and we can be glad all that there are them. However they are often too ponderous as only way from the conflict. Above all they become effective too late and go then too fast over into a legally delivered procedure. Therefore the traditional procedures should be supplemented by simpler entrances to competent conflict treatment.”
